If you’re looking to support local gay-focused theater, and enjoy some wayward, merry holiday fun at the same time, pencil in Monday, December 9, 2013 on your seasonal celebration calendar for the third annual A Very Quince Holiday Cabaret, presented by Quince Productions, the producer of Philadelphia’s annual GayFest LGBT theater festival.
The evening of entertainment and fundraising, which is hosted at Tabu’s Upstairs Lounge (200 S. 12th Street, Philadelphia), will feature thirteen performers from previous Quince productions presenting “holiday” songs (although don’t expect all of your typical carols), along with some special surprises, including the announcement of the company’s April show.
“There will be other holiday fun, including a 50/50 raffle and a guess-that-baby contest featuring the most adorable pictures imaginable of the cast, “ said Rich Rubin, the Producing Artistic Director of Quince Productions.
And what’s a holiday party without something to wash all that merriment down? Starting at 5:30PM, guests can take part in a holiday happy hour, which includes $3 Blue Moon, $6 Absolut, and $4 Shiners Holiday Beer.
The show, which begins at 6PM, features the talent of Deborah Billups, Carly Bodnar, John Hodges, Michael L. Medvidik, Jordi Wallen, Derrick Baldwin, Sean Thompson, Hillary Parker, AJ Luca, Peggy Smith, Tyler Riley, Elaine Fydrych, and Alexander Kacala.
Tickets are $25 for VIP guaranteed seating and $15 for general bar admission. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit the Quince Productions webpage, or call 215-627-1088.
