Become part of a global health movement – 38 cities, 21 countries, 1 race

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

Summer is over and the pressure of having that summer body is letting up but let’s not forget Halloween is coming! If you are anything like me, I need constant things to keep me motivated such as vacations, summer, Halloween or anything that has to do with the possibility of being in public shirtless. Regardless of time of year and what events are coming up, it is important to stay healthy and to get your body moving. Global Energy Race by Bimbo Bakeries (think brands like Stroehmann, Sare Lee, Thomas and Entenmann’s) is a 10K and 5K race that aims to get people moving….in 38 cities, 21 countries, on one day. Global Energy Race takes place on Sunday, September 24th at Penn’s Landing and races begin at 7:30 a.m. which gives you enough time to run the race, cool down and head to brunch afterwards.

Philly is one of only five lucky cities in the US that is a part of this global event and it is going to be one to remember. With all the races in the city these days…what sets this a part you might ask?

Well for one, registration prices are SUPER low and can be even lower with discount code HLE17 for an additional 20% off. Secondly, you get so much swag which includes race t-shirt, race medal, cooling towel, drawl string bags plus a ton of food at the post-race festival which also includes yoga, face painting, and more. Lastly, the grand prize for the top male and female winner is a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro to the 2018 race including travel and lodging.

One of my favorite things about the race (besides the grand prize) is that the race also benefits Philabundance.

Register now (don’t forget about HLE17 for 20% off) and get a kick-start to summer body 2018!
