Rupaul’s Diva’s Hit Voyeur

The Voyeur stage is no stranger to a variety of stars that have graced Logo’s hit reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race. Voyeur has been host to many memorable queens such as Yara Sofia, Willam, newly crowned winner of season 4 Sharon Needles, and on May 2nd the winner of season 4’s Miss Congeniality Latrice Royal is sure to bring a hefty crowd. Pun intended. And, of course, you can catch season 3’s Mimi Imfurst’s DollHouse Revue every Wednesday night.

Saturday night the Philadelphia gayborhood welcomed four queens from this past season with open arms: Lashawn Beyond, The Princess, Kenya Michaels and Dida Ritz.

The show was advertised to be starting sharply at 10. I arrived on time. After reading War and Peace cover to cover twice, the show began with a performance by Dollstars Navaya Shay, Omyra Lynn and The Goddess Isis. Omyra turnt it, per usual. Navaya’s breastplate looked nervous.

Zoe LaBianca was making her usual rounds.

After performances by ex-Dollstars Cherry Pop, Satine Harlow and Aida Snatchwell, Dollhouse mother Mimi Imfurst took the stage with a resounding performance of Nicki Minaj’s Starshps. She pulled a Porcelain by eating her tips but in true Mimi Imfurst fashion—she didn’t swallow.

All of the queens did a marvelous job but I do have to single out Dida Ritz. There are few times when I feel like I should just throw my entire wallet at a queen because the performance is so good. Dida danced to Beyonce’s Run The World (Girls) and it was sickening. She set that stage on fire.

When Misty Maven took the stage, Cherry Pop invited me to go upstairs to the dressing room and meet the girls. They were all very gracious, taking photos with fans and chatting about the show.

All in all, it was a successful night. I did expect the place to be more crowded but maybe I was just jaded by the swarms of people that showed up for Sharon Needles’ performance.

I would say something about the end of the show but I blacked out.
