Diva’s at Stir

I descend on 17th and Chancellor at 10:30 looking either ridiculously ferocious or ferociously ridiculous, in a pin-striped fedora and a pair of oversized silver-colored frames that would make even Sir Elton John revolve in his hairpiece. Find out what happens next

Camac Martini Bar

Camac Martini Bar is a beautiful little spot located in the heart of Philly’s Gayborhood. The front of the building is a little bit misleading, from the appearance of the dark glass windows you might think it was a classic Philly dive, but when you walk in the door you’re immediately greeted by the glorious smell of brick oven Pizza and scented candles.

Matthew Izzo: Life is Art

I went to Matthew Izzo’s official opening party, two weeks ago for March First Friday. I normally would apologize for the delay but Matthew seems to constantly evolve; thus everyday is an opening. The new space is bigger, warmer. It boasts a wide, wooden, retail floor on the ground level, with a seemingly vintage wood and glass display case, while the stairway boasts an inviting, colorful assembly of vintage art.

Three’s a Crowd

I’m a female and just started being in a relationship with a girl for the first time and I’m trying to figure out what is appropriate and what is not. The problem is my girlfriend is hanging out with a girl she briefly saw while we were in our “open” relationship phase. They go to the gym together, go to dinner, run all the time, etc. And this girl was heartbroken after my girlfriend told her she had to break it off with her because of her commitment to me. Now my girlfriend insists we all 3 go on runs together and hang out. I’m not comfortable with this because I get the vibe from the girl that she is still interested in my girlfriend. I don’t know what to do because my girlfriend claims she doesn’t like her in that way and that it’s strictly a platonic relationship. What should I so?

Foyer Philadelphia

I am constantly amazed by kids who are aware of their sexuality and have the courage to come out at an early age. Society isn’t always as thrilled and accepting. Each year there are between 115,000 and 640,000 homeless and runaway LGBTQ youth in this country.

Nightlife Legends Series – DJ Reenie Kane

Spinning for well over 30 years, DJ Reenie Kane has helped shape what we know now as gay nightlife. An out lesbian with a partner (the beautiful and widely-loved Adele) of just as many years, Reenie has been making both gay and straight people dance with an eclectic mix and a music catalog that rivals just about anyone in the world.

Oscar On the Square

This past Oscar Sunday, Rittenhouse Square played host to The Red Carpet Oscar Party, decidedly not a mere walk through the park! The event was the brainchild of Desiree Hines and Mark Dahl, both of Traverse Arts Project, and both fixtures of everything fun and theatrical in Philly.
