Arden Theatre Company presents Once. This production for the stage is directed by Terrence J. Nolen, the Arden’s producing Artistic Director. Once is the initial production of Arden’s 31st season, and it is not to be missed.
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies will soon be at the Academy of Music as part of the season’s first presentation of Broadway Philadelphia. Sean Thompson, who plays Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, will be returning to his hometown. He was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. Sean recently took a few minutes out from his busy schedule to talk to me about Love Never Dies, his early life, education, career, and personal life.
In association with Hartford Stage, the McCarter Theatre center is now presenting a stage adaptation by Douglas McGrath of Edith Wharton’s classic novel, The Age of Innocence.
Opera Philadelphia is now presenting Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, at the Academy of Music until September 30. It is part of their Festival O 2018. This new production has much to recommend it.
Irving Berlin’s American masterpiece, Holiday Inn, is now playing at America’s masterpiece, the Walnut Street Theatre, until October 21.
Czech-born Sir Tom Stoppard’s 1988 play, Hapgood, is now onstage at the Lantern Theater until October 14. It is the play’s Philadelphia premiere.
